Video Editing

• Scripture slide show creation - we have a significant amount of Scripture which has been recorded in a Berber language but which cannot be used on a screen (TV, YouTube, etc) because it has no accompanying images.  Creating attractive powerful slideshows for Scripture could be a full time job.  We aim to produce each slideshow in several languages and to make your work available free of charge to many other like-minded organisations.  Who knows how many languages each slideshow might finish up appearing in?
  • The work of creating the slideshow and synchronising the text with the images can be done in your language.  You would then supply us with the files so that we can add the Berber language to your slideshow.  We might also give you the Berber sound file so you can do this.  
• Other video editing projects - we have a number of projects for which audio has been recorded and now needs to be synchronised with the video footage we have.  Our approach is mostly to edit the video to fit the audio rather than the inverse (the more normal method).  It is our opinion that the audio is the most important part of our product and that when working in Berber languages clarifications are often necessary to get the message clear.  If the audio must fit the video then most clarifications must be cut out.  We translate our projets phrase-by-phrase so can supply an accurate transcript of the audio in English, French or Arabic.  If you understand one of these languages, have time available and want to learn or use your video editing skills we would love to hear from you.  

Video Editing Software

This work can be done with quality free Open Source software that you can install on your computer and learn as you go along.  Recommendations :

• Kdenlive (Windows, Mac, or Linux) - relatively advanced full featured video editor.  It is much easier to learn and use than Davinci Resolve.  https://kdenlive.org/  This is the preferred tool.  
• Davinci Resolve (Windows, Mac or Linux) - advanced full audio and (mostly) free video editor. Very powerful (requires a relatively hi-end ccomputer).  https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/fr/products/davinciresolve/ Resolve comes with a very full and free training program that you can do at home.  Use this if you want to do a lot of video editing - it is an advanced professional level tool.
• Your preferred other video editor.  We will not require you to learn a new tool if you are already proficient with one that will do the job.  We would prefer however that the project be able to be edited with free software so that others wishing to add new languages to your work may do this without a financial barrier.  This can usually be achieved from most editors by exporting the different layers of the project into separate files for import into another editor.  

Website Creation and Maintenance

Websites are more and more the home-base for key information.  Creating and maintaining secure, simple to update and attractive websites is a challenging and time consuming task.  Our preferred tool :

• Publii - a free easy to use static website creation tool.  It is possible to collaboratively edit websites using this tool with a bit of more complex configuration.  See https://getpublii.com
