Andrew's ministry
by AJpublished on
Andrew's main ministry focus is reaching North Africa's unreached Amazigh peoples through media. The vision and method is described in detail on the Forgotten Five Media website.
Andrew's main focus is on the production and distribution of audio-visual content in the Amazigh languages.
Given that Andrew speaks only Arabic, English and French he relies of native speakers of the Amazigh languages in question for the translation and checking of his projects. A key is to find brothers or sisters who grew up in their homeland and thus master their mother tongue. They then need to speak English, French or Arabic in order both to communicate with A and to translate video content into their mother tongue.
Once video content has been produced, Andrew works on its distribution. All content is placed both on the reference website for the language in question (each Amazigh language has a website run by a specialist in that language), on YouTube and on Story Channel. Where there is an existing follow up team in a given language the contact details needed to reach them are broadcast with the video (they show up about every 5 to 15 minutes at the bottom of the episode). In this way those responding to a video in a given language are put in touch with brothers or sisters that speak that language who take the follow up work on from there.
In several small (and not so small) Amazigh languages there is a great need for more workers, in particular workers in-counrty who are native speakers of the language. It is relatively easy to set up a Facebook page and to begin dialoguing with large numbers of people using it, but the key lack, and the key need for prayer, is for native language speakers able and willing to run such pages. We prayer regularly for this need.
